Reflections from Destination Dallas...Part 1(of 6):

As we processed all the things we saw in 2 1/2 jam packed days at Market....we thought we would reflect a bit on some of the things which caught our attention for some reason or another!

Our first stop was Melissa Shirley....as we waited patiently with about 35 other retailers for the noon start to market:

we peeked into the beautifully arranged displays and piles of canvases:

And within seconds, there was a frenzy of activity! Piles were unsorted and arms & elbows flying to select the canvases to bring back to their stores. Think Target when the doors open after Thanksgiving and they have electronics and TVs on sale!

That being said...we were impressed by the beautifully displayed finishing which always helps to show off the canvases in the best light! We especially liked the large candy corns (Stitch Guides by Cynthia Thomas), the new smaller version of their popular boxed pumpkins and their new owls!

Take a look at this beautiful finished snowman village scene which was on display for all to see:

We were also very impressed at Danji Designs! They had a number of new candy cane canvases and christmas ornaments (a number of which we brought back and are on display in the store)! (Only showing you a few of the MANY they released at the show):

But they also had some fun patriotic sparklers and pinwheels on display:

And while these aren't new designs we still LOVED their little 3D Pumpkin Designs (we brought the turkey home with us):

We were lucky enough to meet Rachel Donely for the first time and fell in love with her Letter to Santa canvas which can be personalized so it's from your family and can be a hanging item or a cute box for your holiday cards!

Pepperberry Designs had a darling display of finished items:

Their new penguin series with accompanying stitch guides are adorable:

We will end Part 1 of our Destination Dallas reflection by saying it was so refreshing to meet some young, hip needlepoint designers.....Tess and Thorn. Their designs are very edgy, very current and we think they will be a hit! #Love, John Lennon and the Hamsa design are all on their way to our store!

Stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow!!!
